Hair wrap too hot!

I have been wrapping my hair every night in a silk scarf that my husband gave me when I went digging around the house looking for a silk scarf last spring.  I've gone to bed every night wearing this scarf around my head because I'm too cheap to buy satin pillow cases.  Anyway, It's been unseasonable warm here in Minnesota and I've been getting really hot at night.  I'm foreseeing a long hot summer wearing this silk scarf.
In the picture to the left I know that I look like Aunt Jemima.  This is me right before bed with no make up on and looking tired.  Check out the sexy pink PJ's (lol)!  Notice the red eyes from my allergies starting a month early this year.  Sigh... the joys of an early spring ruined by itchy watery red eyes, sneezing, and a runny nose.

Does anyone have any suggestions on something affordable and protective for me to wear at night that is cool?  I really want something cool!  I know I'm being kinda picky but, I'm prone to get headaches so I like to be able to adjust the tightness.  I also like the ease of something that can be thrown in the washing machine.  I know, I know I'm so demanding! Maybe I should just bite the bullet and get satin pillow cases?  Until next time...
Blessings!

  1. That's a pretty scarf! I have two scarves, a silk one and my Blended Beauty one. I would imagine that the BB one might be cooler, because it has an adjustable hole at the top. Here was my review! I'm pretty sure you can toss that in the washing machine too. Hope it helps!

  2. I usually use a satin hair bonnet. I wear it inside out so that the rubber band doesn't tug at my hair line.

  4. I think that scarf is so cute! I wear a satin hair bonnet as well. It's probably not that sexy but it doesn't give me a headache.

  5. Yep, try a satin bonnet. That is what I wear! It is awesome, won't be too tight on your edges or anything and will let your hair breathe.

  8. Thank you ladies for all the advice! Since I can get an affordable satin cover for my pillow I think I might look at that option.

  9. You look cute with your scarf on... The ladies basically told you what you need. I have 3 silk scarves that I interchange, and a satin bonnet that I use as well... All are cool... I especially love the bonnet because it's not too close to my head all around and my hair is able to breathe w/out being pushed down.... :)

  10. I use white gauze . . . it breathes, it is light and airy and there is no sweating at nighttime. I tie it low on my forehead to keep it from rubbing on my edges. You do look at little like AJ but I ain't mad at you. You should see what I look like sometimes!! LOL. I bought it from the fabric store. I have plenty . . . just in case you can't find it and want to try it. Let me know.
