It's snowing!

So, this morning on my way to work I noticed a few snow flakes drifting around.  Now Minneapolis is not slated to get any real snow, but this has me concerned.  I have been doing wash n go's every morning and besides adding It's Perfectly Natural Root Food and my oil mixture I have been doing nothing different with my hair.  Besides the "cold" factor, should I be doing anything different?  I don't want to wear extensions or a weave and my hair isn't long enough to twist or braid, so am I alright with my current routine?
Blessings!

  1. I wish I had a little more experience with the TWA stage but I've never had hair that short except as a baby! I would say, moisture, moisture, moisture! Maybe you could do some coils or mini twists as a protective style. Hope that helped!

  2. JenJen, I would say either cease the wash n' gos or just do them at night. Giving your hair more time to dry . Then, this may sound redundant, but moisturize! You seem to be doing well with this part. Hair needs moisture daily. Good luck. Hope this helps!!!

  3. Yes, I agree with Precious and BlackSistah! The important thing is to moisturize. I make sure that I moisturize my hair in the morning at night. You may need to do that more or less depending on your hair type.

  4. Thank you ladies! I plan to make sure that I moisturize my hair twice a day and maybe I need to get some patience for finger coils.

  5. Ohh, a new blog. I subscribed! I transitioned so I can't help too much. Sorry. I thinking about cutting my hair off and donating, just so I can experience what it's like to have a TWA. Good luck!

  6. @ Dominique-Alexis I love your blog and you are so creative! Thanks for the support, but don't cut off your beautiful hair. TWA's are for people who want short hair or are tired of the relaxed hair.

  9. I co-sign on the moisture, moisture, moisture advice but I would also suggest that you make sure to seal in the moisture (water) with a light natural oil. I probably wouldn't recommend coconut oil (as much as I like it) for fear that it might reharden in the cold temperatures of your state. It should be okay because the heat radiating from your body but if you do use it and find white flakes, you'll know why.
